Music is a very important part of worship here at Trinity. Our adult choir has had many musical and spiritual moments of greatness together. For Easter, we sang “The Lord of Resurrection” and for Christmas, we are planning to sing “Bethlehem Morning.” We sang in the Religious Arts Festival in January at the Central Presbyterian church. Our new accompanist is Jeff Goodspeed. We held a talent show/ice cream social for a fundraiser to recondition the Baldwin Grand piano in the sanctuary.
Our children’s choir participates in the traditional/blended service and we have a greater attendance since switching to Sunday nights. The Trinity Fine arts Camp has grown to 60 children with over 25 volunteers.
Our orchestra and handbell choir play every 2-3 months. The Handbell choir took a workshop where we learned new techniques, and we plan to attend a spring handbell convention in 2010. The Trinity Trio practices weekly and participates regularly in the service. Our sound team has been involved in two training sessions this year.
The New Road Band has a new director, Jennifer Rife. This year they played for the street worship service for the July 4th Sunday under the direction of our former Director of Contemporary Worship, Jacob Wolverton. Jacob did a magnificent job during his work at Trinity and we applaud him for his efforts. He will be greatly missed.
Thank you for allowing me to direct our music program and thank you for all the volunteer hours and financial gifts that were contributed to help the program flourish.
Sincerely,
Marla Stanton
