Curious but not sure if Trinity and Trinity Connect are right for you?
We know how hard and awkward it can be to "visit" a church community for the first time. So know that you are welcome to join Trinity Connect via the link and leave your camera and sound off. Although we hope, eventually, to know your name and see your face, feel free to take as much time as you need to explore the Trinity Connect experience anonymously. |
Christianity is about more than "me and Jesus." Like the sign of the cross, Christianity is about our vertical relationship with God through Christ; but also our horizontal relationships with others. That's why Trinity Connect was designed to be an online experience in Christian community. It goes beyond viewing a worship service. It provides the opportunity, virtually, to BE the Church.
Throughout the pandemic we had an online gathering that became a unique experience in Christian community allowing people to engage from their own homes, while out of town, from their phones, etc. We have decided to continue this Sunday morning online gathering under the name Trinity Connect: Church From Anywhere. Trinity Connect provides the opportunity for an experience in consistent and cohesive Christian community for those whose life styles, physical conditions or abilities may make in-person gathering particularly challenging. Trinity Connect meets via Zoom from 9:15 to 10:00 every Sunday morning. The structure of Trinity Connect is:
Communion is a sacrament we take very seriously so, as during in-person worship, we will ask that you hold up your bread/cracker and your juice/grape in front of your computer screen so that the bread and cup can be prayed over and blessed by the pastor. If you are local to the Lafayette area and would like to have individual packets with a wafer and juice delivered, please contact the pastor at tracey@trinitylafayette.org However, be assured that any bread/cracker and juice/grape, having been prayed over and blessed, are considered to represent the body and blood of Christ. In addition, the United Methodist practices an "open communion." Whether you hold formal membership in the United Methodist Church or any other church, you are welcome to commune if you welcome the grace of Christ into your life. |
