In attendance: Chair Savannah Jewell, Kenny Jones, Eric Danz, Dinah Dalder, Mary Jo Risk, Norma Singley, Kay Franscoviak, Kristi Evans, Jeremy Grossman, Susie Riley and Pastor Tracey Leslie Savannah opened the meeting with prayer. Savannah made a MOTION to accept the minutes of February 25, 2019. Kenny seconded and all approved. Endowment – In Ryan’s absence, Savannah reminded everyone we will be voting on the final draft of the Endowment Charter at a church conference on Monday, April 8 2019 at 6:00 p.m. Ryan needs three people to serve on the Endowment committee besides he, Eric Danz, Kay Fransoviak (Lay Leader) and Pastor Tracey. Names were recognized and Savannah to pass on to Ryan. Pastor Tracey will be non-voting.
Community Coordinator – Pastor Tracey reviewed the resume on Amber Treager and reviewed the proposal of her different duties. After discussing, Savannah made a MOTION to hire Amber Treager as Community Coordinator starting April 28, 2019 thru April 27, 2020. Eric seconded and all approved. Reconciling Ministries Banner – Pastor Tracey passed a picture of a banner that will be placed on the front outside of the church to show all are welcomed at Trinity. Kristi made a MOTION to purchase the banner and display it outside. Kay seconded and all approved. Garden and Grill – Discussed having a garden and grill on the day of Worship in the streets (6/30) with the other churches. Dinah and Claudia agreed to organize. Pastor Tracey to check with the other church Pastors to see if they would be interested and contact person from their church. Pastor Tracey to ask Ryan Wynkoop about assisting with the grill. Story Suppers – Morris will be leading the story suppers, which will be held on Sunday, June 2 after church and Wednesday June 9 at 6:00p.m. Still in need of table leaders. Pastor Tracey passed around the church directory for the Board to pick some names to call and invite to the story suppers. Retreat – John Whitaker will lead a retreat entitled “The Choice for Community” covering several topics on Friday May 17. Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m. and the actual retreat is 6:30-9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, May 18 at 9:00 a.m.-Noon. Governing Board and staff to meet with John on Saturday, May 18, Noon-2:00 p.m. to debrief, discuss learnings/next steps/integration. Jimmy John’s will be provided. Kristi volunteered to possibly take John to dinner Saturday evening. John will preach on Sunday, May 19. Discipleship – Jeremy reported Pastor Tracey would be teaching Sunday class before Easter. Jeremy and Pastor Linda will teach in May. Jeremy is hoping to work with Morris on a Sunday class in the summer. Information on classes will be passed along to the greeters and ushers for proper direction of guests. Missions – Mary Jo reported there was a great turn out for the Brianna’s Hope meal Trinity recently provided. Discussed the Easter collection. Norma made a MOTION to have the Easter collection go to Lebanon Children’s Home. Kay seconded and all approved. Finance – Eric distributed operating budget through February. Total income is up 16.82% (mainly due to a member paying the full year’s pledge in February). Watching computer supplies (service fees and church windows are a big portion). Overall Administration expense is under budget. Maintenance expense is 5.04% over budget (due to unplanned upkeep of the church building). Will monitor closely in upcoming months. Overall, in good condition. Trustees – Kristi asked for the following invoices to be paid from BUILDING ENDOWMENT: - $250 – Snuffy’s Plumbing – Cleaning of drain in mechanical room - $449.98 – Snuffy’s Plumbing – Drain in mechanical room - $120 – Twin City Equipment – Calibrated oven in kitchen - $10.50 – Haley’s Lock, Safe & Key – Extra keys - $105 – Sound Advice – Sound panels installed in GREAT room - $392.50 – Wiesler’s – Snow plowing and sidewalk salt (3/3/2019) - $60.37 – Flexpac Products – Cleaning supplies North Street – On May 10, the corner of 5th and North Streets will close. You will need to enter the parking lot from the North if coming in on 5th Street. By May 21, North Street will be closed between 5 and 6th Streets (we don’t have the exact date on this part). The sidewalks will also be removed. If you go to the office, you will have to enter through the back door. The alley to the elevator entrance will be the main entrance. Therefore if you drop someone off at elevator you will have to back all the way out after drop off. If for some reason the elevator is down, you will have to enter through the back kitchen door. Also handicap ramp off of 6th Street will be open. Kristi and Bob will coordinate the best way to get into the church and have requested from the city that 6th Street have designated handicap parking. Guac Box - Kristi informed us the Guac Box wants to bring in a small chest freezer. He is already using the youth room and parlor freezers for extra space. We have no place to put a small freezer. Kay made a MOTION that we do not allow for another freezer, as there is no space. Kristi seconded and all approved. Savannah closed the meeting in prayer at 8:20 p.m. Our next meeting will be April 23, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.
