When Pastor Tracey asked me if I would speak about why it is important to me to financially support Trinity, I thought it would be easy to express. After a week or so of trying to put into words something I had never questioned, it didn't seem so easy! As she said in last Sunday's announcements, "Giving is first and foremost about our relationship with God, those we love, and those who will follow us." My understanding of giving is found in our membership vows to support the church with our prayers, our presence, our gifts, and our service. As a take off on a commercial, if you are a Christian you give because that is what Christians do. Giving is one way of responding to God's love; the affect it has on Trinity's ministry is out of my hands.
