The first Parent Toolbox Series workshop was a success! A big thank you to Laura Stevens for giving a wonderful talk on natural alternatives for raising ADD/ADHD children. It was very well received. If you are interested in purchasing a copy of her terrific book, "Solving the Puzzle of Your ADD/ADHD Child," for a discounted price of $28, please contact Jen Gray (jen@trinitylafayette.org).

The next workshop will be in February by Jennifer Dobbs-Oates: Power Up Your Shared Reading. For more information or the RSVP, click here.

Appreciation of her Native American heritage and a love of animals come together in Randy Holman Schmidt’s life, inspiring her volunteer work, care for animals, art and passion for education. Her latest involvement in a life of learning and sharing is giving time to the Native American Educational and Cultural Center at Purdue University, where director Felica Ahasteen-Bryant said Schmidt has earned “the unofficial title of ‘grandmother.’”

On Sunday, October 18, we recognized new ministry teams in 2015 as well as those faithfully volunteering in various roles at Trinity. Without volunteers, many necessary tasks and ministries would not be completed! As you contemplate your talents, skills, and spiritual gifts, think about how you will commit these to Trinity in the next year.

New Ministry Teams in 2015 at Trinity
Telephone Prayer Team: These individuals receive a list of prayer concerns from Pastor Tracey each week. They then telephone a church member and pray with them, by phone, for our church - its members and its ministries.
Welcoming Team: These individuals serve as “greeters” for our Sunday worship. They place a special emphasis on welcoming and connecting with our worship guests.
Sunday Morning Building Team: This is a group of gentlemen who take turns opening and locking the church building each Sunday.
Visitation Team: These individuals visit with our shut-in members.
Individuals Initiating New Ministries
Mary Hood—Meal Team
Mel Shoaf—Community Roving Listener
Frank Cederquist—Cub Scouts
Other Ministry Teams
Office Volunteers: Assist with bulk mailings and other office tasks.
Ushers: Welcome Sunday morning worshippers, pass out bulletins and collect the morning offering.
Lawn Care: Take turns over the summer months mowing the lawn and caring for flower beds.
Counters: Count our Sunday offering.
Bus Ministry: Drive our Trinity bus picking up those who request transportation.
Family Promise Volunteers: Host families in our Education Building four weeks each year.
Sound Crew: Run the sound board for worship.
